SCM Integrations
Windshift connects to source control providers so work items link to branches, commits, and pull requests. A system administrator configures providers under Admin > Integrations & Links > SCM Providers. The supported providers are GitHub, GitLab, and Gitea / Forgejo. A provider authenticates with an OAuth app or an access token. GitHub also supports a GitHub App.
Connect a workspace
Open a workspace, then Source Control in workspace settings. Connect a provider and link one or more repositories to the workspace.
Repository settings
Each linked repository has patterns:
- A tag pattern drives milestone automation. A matching tag promotes a milestone.
- A branch pattern creates a planning milestone. A matching branch creates the milestone.
Link work
On a work item, link a pull request, branch, or commit. Windshift shows the link and its status. See Work Items.
Milestone releases
From a milestone, create a release in a linked repository or attach an existing tag or release. See Milestones.
Issue sync
GitHub Issue Sync imports and syncs GitHub issues into a workspace. Configure the repository, label mappings, assignee mappings, and milestone mappings, then run a sync.
GitLab webhooks
For GitLab, add the callback URL and secret to the project webhook. Windshift accepts push, tag, merge request, note, and release events. Generate or rotate the webhook secret from the workspace source control settings.
