User guides for day-to-day work in Windshift.
Learn the core concepts in Windshift and how to manage projects, work items, boards, backlogs, time tracking, test management, and customer portals.
The documentation is organised in two tracks. The user guide covers day-to-day work inside a workspace. The self-hosting guide covers installation, deployment, configuration, the CLI, plugins, and tutorials for running Windshift on your own infrastructure.
Start with the user guide
If you are new to Windshift, begin with the overview and your first project. Those pages explain workspaces, projects, and work items, then walk through the first planning cycle.
Everyday guides cover boards and backlogs, milestones and iterations, time tracking, test management, customer portals, and workspace administration.
- Getting started: overview, your first project, and mobile
- Work management: work items, boards, backlogs, collections, milestones, and iterations
- Time tracking: logging time and organising projects and customers
- Test management: test cases, plans, runs, templates, coverage, and reports
- Customer portals: intake, request types, service levels, and support queues
Self-hosting and operations
The self-hosting guide covers Docker, SQLite, PostgreSQL, reverse proxies, and production readiness. Configuration pages document every environment variable and authentication option.
Operator guides cover the command-line interface, the plugin API, the coding-agent runner, and step-by-step tutorials that go from an empty server to a working workspace.
- Deployment: Docker, SQLite, PostgreSQL, reverse proxy, and production readiness
- Configuration: options, authentication, and environment variables
- CLI: installation, configuration, commands, and coding agents
- Plugins: overview, creating plugins, and the plugin API
